| As suddenly as Betty felt led to paint this 2'x3' oil of Jesus Christ's feet, she knew it was not to be a traditional view of this biblical scene ~ the painting had to show Christ "UPCLOSE". | |||||
| Stepping back into the art arena having worked in pencil many years earlier, Betty Carnley Shoopman had never worked with oil paints. However, this painting, done in 2006 has already bee awarded the "Peoples Choice" Award at the 2007 Celebrate the Arts Festival in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Prints of the Walk to Emmaus painting are in churches and foyers of many homes.
