THE WALK TO EMMAUS PAINTING

Artist, Betty Shoopman
Blue Lake Walk to Emmaus 96 Table of Sarah

Welcome

“Suddenly, Jesus himself came along and joined them and began walking beside them.”  Luke 24.15 (NLT)

Walking with Jesus. Wow! Being that close to him
every moment creates a powerful picture. So close we can touch his garment. So close that the dust of His feet covers us.
We are called to walk in the resurrection power of Christ. When we open our eyes and focus on Him, He will direct our paths.

“And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots grow down deep into the soil of God’s Marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how  wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.”  Ephesians 3:17-18 9 (NLT)

And I pray we are all reminded daily that He has said, "Follow Me". In Jesus' name. Amen

about the artist

Betty loves the Lord, and her large family both given and chosen. She is ever humbled to be able to use art, one of the things she enjoyed most even as a child, as a means of sharing Jesus with others.

As suddenly as Betty felt led to paint this 2'x3' oil of Jesus Christ's feet, she knew it was not to be a traditional view of this biblical scene ~ the painting had to show Christ "UPCLOSE".

Stepping back into the art arena having worked in pencil many years earlier, Betty Carnley Shoopman had never worked with oil paints. However, this painting, done in 2006 by has already been awarded the "People's Choice" Award at the 2007 Celebrate the Arts Festival in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Prints of the Walk to Emmaus painting are in churches and foyers of many homes. Signed and numbered limited edition giclee prints, open edition prints, notecards and bookmarks are available for order.

Betty is working on a series of biblical "views" of her Savior JESUS UP CLOSE. God has gifted her this opportunity and it is an unimaginable blessing and joy for her.
